Local Authority By-Lays are laws which are made by a local authority (ie councel,shire etc) and may only apply to a specific area covered by the authority.

By-laws are generally only created when there is no general legislation that may deal with a particular issue or inquiry you  or someone else may have.

You should check with your local government to see if there are any by-laws you need to abide by. Some local authorities do not permit the breeding of rats mice and rabbits in some areas so it should be noted if you are looking at having large numbers of animals, elapids, outdoor enclosures or even food breeding.
